About

WELCOME to the Plainfield Youth Assistance Program.

The Plainfield Youth Assistance Program (PYAP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that operates with a Board of Directors, Program Director, Early Intervention Advocates, and Volunteers. Our first initiative is the Mentoring Component which will serve Kindergarten through High School students and is intended to provide youth and children with adult companionship and opportunities that may not be otherwise available to them and, in turn, build character and trust, self-worth, confidence, respect, responsibility, integrity, motivation, direction and enhance overall development.

VISION

Investing in, assisting, and empowering vulnerable youth and families in Plainfield by engaging our community to help them realize their self-worth, embrace the joy of learning, and achieve their full potential.

MISSION

The Plainfield Youth Assistance Program serves as a voluntary early intervention and advocacy process for at-risk youth and families in Plainfield. PYAP engages the community holistically and brings together individuals, businesses, faith-based, and other nonprofit organizations to provide support, enrichment, and opportunities for youth and their parents and caregivers.

Our Core Values Guide Our Work

The core of the value system for the Town of Plainfield is the family. As emphasized by the Town’s Community of Value Program, “When the family has been strong, our nation, our communities, our churches, our schools, our people have reaped the positive results”.

PYAP embraces and attempts to instill in the children and families we serve the same 12 values the Town of Plainfield promotes:

  • Equal Opportunity
  • Honesty
  • Reliability
  • Respect for the Environment
  • Justice
  • Respect for Law and Rules
  • Truth
  • Dignity/Self-Esteem
  • Responsibility and Accountability
  • Respect for Others’ Rights
  • Kindness
